I noticed tonight a surge of user reports of -42408 and error -50 and just failure to signin to itunes/appstore in general. Discord also had a 3 hour issue with signin and services, tied to a major google services outage. Not sure if apple relies on them or not, but could be related. Either because apple relies on services that were affected, OR because of all the users who couldn't get their usual apps to work suddenly flooded apple services looking for different/working apps or answers or just something to do while waiting on the other apps to recover.

in other words, maybe it'll sort itself out, that thread about itunes suddenly being out of date seems unrelated since it's not like apple released a new itunes version on a saturday and then disabled an older version out of blue. :D
