After the latest update iOS 13.2.3 and numbers update (5.2.1), numbers will not open any files or create new ones. I get a message that says “Can’t open spreadsheet” “numbers can’t read the file, you can try restoring to a previous version”. Or it simple says “The file ... couldn’t be opened”. Not sure what is going on. They open fine on my Mac.

i found that after I restarted my phone, they started working for whatever reason. Odd
FYI all, I restarted the phone and that seemed to jog the cloud back into functionality.
The restart worked for me as well.
Did anyone figure this out? I cant open *any* iWork files at all on iOS, also no problems on the Mac. This is fairly terrifying, consider that I blindly trust apple to protect all these sensitive and important files?!?
