White spot on 10.5 iPad Pro screen

I have an iPad pro 10.5 that Has had a faint white spot on the screen just above the home button. Seems that many owners have this problem. As it is only barely visible on a white background. My question is: Is this something that I should think about getting fixed (screen replacement?) or can I just live with it> If the latter, might I expect catastrophic, sudden iPad failure in the future or just a slow deterioration over time?

Needless, to say, my IPad is no longer under warranty so I would have to pay for a new screen myself. Also others, who reported getting Apple to replace the screen under warranty, have reported appearance of the white spot again.

Thanks for any helpful inputs here.
