Match is not upgrading my songs to higher quality, why?

I have Catalina, so I have Music rather than iTunes. I subscribed to Match. It spent hours and hours combing through my music. It seems to be done, yet when I look at the information on the song they are all still 128kps.

Isn't Match supposed to upgrade music files to higher quality?

It doesn't happen automatically. For tracks that have been successfully matched, right-click, remove download, then right-click and download. You should end up with a 256K AAC version of the original track. Before you do this make sure that you have a secure backup of your media in case of any mismatched versions, e.g. clean vs. explicit, etc.
