Videos not downloading to iphone 8 from itunes 12.9

I have just replaced my iPhone SE with an iPhone 8. I successfully restored a back of the old phone and have now set up the new one the same as the old one.

I am using iTunes 12.9.5.5 for syncing music and videos to the new iPhone. But videos (TV shows and movies) refuse to sync. I don't get any error messages - it just ignores my selection to sync 2 movies.

The same happens with TV shows. None of my selected videos are iTunes purchases and they all worked on the SE.

This has never happened with previous phones.

Note that I am unable to update my computer to Catalina and so will continue to use iTunes in Mojave.

Update: I have discovered that the original files are no longer linked to iTunes and this is the reason they won't sync. I will have to add them back into iTunes and try again.
