iMac w/Catalina won't read Compact Flash card from multimedia devices

Since updating my iMac (late 2014, USB 2.0) to Catalina 10.15.1, it no longer acknowledges my multimedia readers (Belkin USB 2.0, Ativa). It also does not acknowledge the USB cable from the Canon 5d camera port. How can I extract photos from the Compact Flash card?

Good afternoon garywho,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand you upgraded your computer to macOS Catalina, but your USB 2.0 peripherals aren't working with your iMac. If you have not done so already, unplug all of your peripherals and restart your computer after a software update. If the issue persists, the resources below may help you address this issue:

Take care.
