Restore files deleted from Trash

i deleted some folders on my desktop. they were deleted from my trash. they were not backed up to the cloud. and time machine is not activated. any ideas how to restore them. i tried a 3rd party software but it didn't work.

if they went to the Trash and the Trash was emptied, then they are gone.

Might be a good time to embrace Time Machine before history repeats itself.
