Installation could not proceeding further . Looks like it hangs
I tried to install the new Mac OS but it stuck in between .could not proceed further . Could anyone help me

The entire installation can take between 20-45 minutes, sometimes longer. If yours has done nothing for at least an hour, then press and hold down the Power button until the machine shuts down. Wait 30 seconds then reboot. If you boot back to your previous system successfully, then try running First Aid on your disk. If that succeeds then see:
Installing An Upgrade From Safe Mode
- Disconnect all peripherals connected.
- Reset your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM.
- Restart the computer and at the chime press and hold down the Command and R keys until the Utility Menu appears.
- Select Disk Utility and press the Continue button.
- Then select the indented (usually, Macintosh HD) volume entry from the side list.
- Click on the First Aid tab in the toolbar and wait for the Done button to activate. Click on it, then quit Disk Utility.
- Select Restart from the Apple menu. Press and hold down Command-S to start in Safe Mode. This is slower than a normal startup. Don't panic.
- Now, try installing the upgrade and see if you have normal results.
