external display not working

Using a USB to USB-c connector to connect my MacBook Air to my pluggable USB 3.o Docking Station, but the external display will not recognize the MacBook Air. The external keyboard and mouse work (connect through the docking station), just not the display. Is there a setting I need to adjust?

Hi there, Rjshimanek3,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. I understand that you're using a docking station to connect your keyboard and mouse, as well as an external display, to your MacBook Air, but the display isn't working. I'm happy to help!

First, see if the display is able to be detected when connected directly to the computer. Review the information in Use external monitors with your Mac - Apple Support, and if you still need help try in a new, test user: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac - Apple Support.

Have a lovely day!
