Keyboard languages

After I downloaded OS 13.1.2, on my iPad Pro, the attachable keyboard no longer responds to command for keyboard change to Swedish, which has three letters not used in English. Before the system change, all I had to do was hold down the globe key and select Swedish. The letters were available on other keys at the end of the second and third rows of keys. Now I have to detach the keyboard and use the onscreen keyboard to use the foreign letters. Question: do I need to buy a new keyboard or what have I forgotten?

Try using the Control plus Space shortcut for changing languages.

Also go to settings > general > keyboard > hardware keyboard, making sure the keyboard is connected, and tap over at the right edge for Swedish, and make sure to choose Swedish (and not "automatic" or "US")

Thank you. That worked. That was one step I did not need to perform before downloading the latest OS. Settings keyboard hardware was set on automatic. You can only “set” they keyboard for one language at a time. If I want French symbols, letters with accents, do I have to go into settings again and select French? Before downloading OS 13, all I needed to do was toggle with the globe key.

If you want a French azerty keyboard behavior on your hardware keyboard, you will have French on your keyboard list in addition to Swedish, and in the Hardware Keyboard setting for French, over at the right edge, you should choose French (instead of automatic or US or Swedish).

I don't know why the globe key is not working, but the other shortcut for stepping through a keyboard list should be Control Option Space.

You can make French characters with the US layout too, by using option key shortcuts. These can be found at
