I downloaded the latest update for Final Cut Pro x for the update with the new metal processor. Now I can not open final cut on my iMac, the icon for FCP X has the no symbol over it in the tool bar.

I am running 10.14.2 on a iMac Retina 5k 27- inch late 2015. 4 GHz inert vote i7. AMD Radeon R9 M395x graphics.

What the **** happened?

You need to update to 10.14.6.

Make a backup (as always), and download and run the 10.14.6 COMBO Update:

I get it. I needed to download 10.14.6, and I thank you sincerely for letting me know. I tried to do just that but the link provided by Apple would not work and I had to start a ticket with Apple support to do a clean install of the OS to remedy the problem. Thankfully the solution offered by Luis with the combo update worked. The problem I am having with all of this is the fact that Apple sent me the update notification, let me download the software and it cost me an afternoon of productive time when I tried to open Final Cut X and it would not open. I was on a tight deadline. I know it seems idiotic to trust an update while mid-project and that just makes my point. Apple WTF? We all paid and paid and paid when the first version of Final Cut X was launched.
