Group Facetime

Hi! My group facetime isn't working and I was wondering if it was a software update issue or if it was my phone in general? So in every group chat I'm in, the group facetime icon is grayed out and when I try to open up a group facetime through the actual Facetime app, I'm only allowed to add one person because if I try to add 2, they become grayed out. Any ideas to fix this? I have an iPhone X and iOS 13. Thank you :)
