Print failure
Since downloading thne new catalina i keep getting backend failed when i try to print via wifi to qolorqube 8580,can anybody shed some light on this?

This sounds like a filter failure caused by 32 bit software. You can check the cups error_log in /var/log/cups to see what filter is failing, but you'll probably need to contact the vendor to get an updated driver or use the generic PS or PCL ppd when adding the printer.
Most printers can have different types of drivers. Often, the operating system includes a basic driver that allows printing. You will need to install a more full-featured driver from the vendor to enable advanced printing capabilities.
However, each vendor, printer, and driver is different. There is no way to tell whether the software will work on new versions of the operating system. If it isn’t working properly, try to download the latest software from the vendor. You will need to delete the printer and re-add it. You will also need to make sure to select the appropriate vendor driver, not the built-in driver.
If none of that works, you will need to purchase a new printer with new software. Sorry, that’s just the way the market works.
