Can a child account create or edit a note on a share folder?

Shared a folder with a child account.

Child account can read the notes but can’t add or edit notes in the share folder.

Is this by design or a bug?

If you shared the folder as read/write, then they should be able to add a file.

The default permissions do not allow someone to edit something created by someone else.

To allow editing of others' files, you would need to add an Access Control List (ACL) to the folder.

When you share it out using File Sharing, it does create an ACL for the users you add, but it doesn't have the file_inherit and directory_inherit permissions that are needed for editing someone else's files.
