In iTunes I cannot authorise my Mac. The option to add my Mac or any other devices is not available under the Account menu. I would like to download the movies I purchased on iTunes. My MacOS and iTunes updated to the latest version.

Try Authorize or deauthorize your computer for iTunes Store purchases - Apple Support. Should the exact steps given there not work where don't they agree with what you see?
