Brand new MacBook Pro randomly shuts down

My brand new Macbook Pro 13 inch shuts down randomly, I bought it 1 day ago and it already happened 3 times. It only turns back on when I put the charger in.

One of the ways to calibrate a macbook/mb-pro battery (aside from older info for PBk/iBk)

is contained in this article; which reflects back to their aim, of calibration of replacement:

• Calibrate and Exercise your Battery for Better Health, Run times - blog.macsales:

https://blog.macsales.com/27698-calibrate-and-exercise-your-battery-for-better-health-run-times

..another take on this matter, from noteworthy new/replacement battery maker..

• How to Calibrate a Mac Laptop's Power System - NewerTech

https://www.newertech.com/batteries/power-calibration-guide/

older batteries and vintage devices (reference iBook G3/G4 & PowerBook G3/G4) differ:

• Battery Conditioning newer tech OWC - (note OS X Tiger 10.4 is mentioned)

https://eshop.macsales.com/Reviews/Framework.cfm?page=hardwareandnews/newerbatteries/newerbatteryconditioning.html

{..and I've been able to nurse sickly dead battery macs back to life, with older calibration method

over several tries; sometimes over three or four days, using the battery conditioning info w/ G4s..}

..then, Apple's modern fix glosses over the mechanics of calibration; newer OS does most of it..

My near mint condition iBook G4 mid-2005 12-in 1.33GHz portable Mac still works well; & has

one of the last newer tech batteries available from the maker; so it sees old-school calibration.

This still runs Tiger 10.4.11 and accesses web via TenFourFox custom browser. ~ Three old macs

are in the same boat; two 2005 G4s, and one early 2006 MacBook1.1.

The rules of letting the battery 'run flat' vary; if you let the mac shut down naturally with super

low battery, (as indicated within instructions) that event usually is OK for a few times in its life.

A new portable mac could see the battery fully charged for several hours before continued use.

That one fairly new may have issues and power failures(?) may be due to this factor.

Be forewarned to never run the battery flat, as that can cause premature failure.

Good luck & happy trails!🌞

Omg looks like a widespread issue among MacBook Pro. I just bought mine last Friday then got it replaced on Sunday. Unfortunately, the second laptop was having the same issue. I was able to record the issue, from 0 to 65% after plugged in.

I called apple support but they just told me to reset some SMC but still getting the same issue.

Battery cycle count is just 2 and normal.
