My MacBook Air (2014) won't turn on. It also doesn't seem to charge. I connect the charger and the red led lights up but 24-48 hrs later it's still red. It never turns green. I've tried two chargers with the same result. I've tried resetting SMC as well with no success.

I think you'd better contact Apple support or make Genius Bar reservation or take your MacBook Air to Apple authorized service provider to check it up.
Thanks for the link kaz-k. I've been there already and tried all these with no success. I've even tried shaking it. I read somewhere about some inertial chip that protects against drops might need to be reset. That wasn't the problem either. It sounds like a trip to the Apple store is in my future.
You need to take the laptop to Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined. It may be as simple as a defective battery.
