Mouse does not turn on iMac

Mouse comes to life after I hit the power button and is normal after that...? Thoughts?

Apple Tech says to try again after the next OS update... ideas for now?

If the iMac is off (not just sleeping) its Bluetooth and USB circuits have no power, so there is no way the mouse can start it. OS updates can't change this.


If it's just sleeping, clicking the mouse should wake it. If it's a Bluetooth mouse, you have to enable the wake feature using the Advanced button in Bluetooth system preference.
