Why does my Macbook Pro Fan rpm is 0?

Hello guys,

I have download and run the software call "Macs Fan Control 1.4.12" on my 2017 Macbook Pro 13'inch display with I7 and 8GB of RAM.

I have notice that the software indicates 0 on my Macbook Fan rmp. I have done the same thing with my 2017 Macbook Pro 15 inch with touchbar model to compare but it indicates left/right fan with average of 2500 rmp each. 13 inch Macbook Pro sometimes overheat extremely and the overall mac is like frying pan.

I have attached the picture of my 13 inch Macbook Pro for better understanding. I wish this is normal so I don't feel like I wasted money.

I've seen the same thing on some 2014-2015 laptops with Macs Fan Control which I just assumed was reporting the idle fan speed correctly since those systems do turn the fan off when not needed. I've never seen it occur on the 2017 models yet.

I would say as long as the Apple Diagnostics pass and the system temperatures are in their normal ranges you don't have anything to worry about.
