My speakers for MAC are very muffled. I have tried everything suggested. Any ideas?

Well if you tried everything...........

If a PRAM reset (holding it for at least three chimes or a full minute so it activates several times) did not help, then take the laptop to Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined.
