converting an AAC file in iTunes to MP3

It's pretty easy to convert an existing AAC file in iTunes to MP3, but where is the new MP3 file. It is supposed to be a new file, but I cannot find it any where in iTunes.

Use the Songs view of the library, sort by Date Added, descending. It will be at the top of the list. Right click and use Show in Finder if you want access to the converted file.
