fake phone calls from apple icloud

I've been receiving numerous phone calls today saying that my ICloud Apple account has been breached; I just hang up. What's going on? The phone number that the call is coming from is 800-538-9696.

iPhone 6, iOS 12

The callers are criminals trying to steal your personal and financial information. Hang up on them, repeatedly if needed.

Scammer. This has been going on for months. Years, actually.

Apple does not make blind calls. Continue to hang up on criminals.
