apple watch series 3

My apple watch will not charge. I have plugged the watch up to charge and the device will not do anything, when I press both buttons to force it to restart it only shows a red lightening bolt with the time on it. Can someone please tell me what I need to do?

First make sure you have the latest updates on both the iPhone and Watch. Next, double check both the charger and watch for any plastic packaging material that can interfere with the charging process. You might have a faulty charger. If you are near an Apple store have them check it out.
