iCloud e mail
On a iPhone 6s is it necessary to have both, the IMAP and SMTP profiles in iCloud e mail settings app? I can only find my SMTP (outgoing)
Yes.
IMAP is for incoming mail and SMTP is for outgoing mail. You need both configured.
