Apple Watch 4 series gps + cellular

Hi. I wonder if I buy Apple Watch 4 series gps + cellular in the US, are they locked to one of the operators? Or I can use them in other country? Will they work for example in Russia?

They are tied to a region based on the cellular radio frequencies that region uses.

Here is a a list of carriers, the radio frequencies and the Apple Watch models that can be used.

Any Apple Watch can be used in a GPS only mode, and will give full functionality anywhere in the world that your iPhone works.

Thank you for the reply, Bob! I don’t want to connect it to any network. I wonder if I can use it as a simple gps watch, connected to my cellphone. The problem is, I want a stainless steel one, but they are only gps+cellular. I don’t need this cellular, that’s why I asked.
