How to Make Alias work?
The From email address isn’t working for me. In Preferences, Accounts, under Email Address, I added my alias, but that email address still isn’t showing up in the From, when I send an email.
What am I missing? How do I make this work?
More info: I bought my name, my domain, let’s say: larry@larrysmith.com
But I’m using gmail as my actual provider, with an email address of let’s say: larrysmith6789@gmail.ccom
Emails sent to larry@larrysmith.com get forwarded to larrysmith6789@gmail.com
That works.
In Mail, I want to send out my emails with a From address: larry@larrysmith.com
I want people to think my email is my name/domain that I bought.
I want to give my email to people as: larry@larrysmith.com
I want people to receive emails from me as larry@larrysmith.com
What's happening now is that my gmail is showing as my From address.
I've added larry@larrysmith.com as my Email address in my Account.
The reason is that I want to keep my same email address for life. In the past, I’ve changed email providers, so my email changed every few years.
This was working, I was sending email From larry@larrysmith.com, then my MacBook stopped working, I bought another used one, put my existing hard drive in my new/used Mac, but some of the settings didn’t stay.
Using Mail 10.3, Mac OS 10.12.6
Thanks for any help you can give!
