Recover recent files
I mistakenly deleted a group of recent files and now they are no longer available in my Documents. How do I recover the files? (Only some were saved in ICloud).

If you sign into iCloud dot com, under your name is a Settings link to the panel that offers file recovery in its lower left corner. Only a 30-day sliding window of file restore is available.
On your Mac, you can recover that list of Recent files known to be somewhere on your Mac by launching Time Machine Restore from Dock : Launchpad : Other, and then using the Restore windows search feature to look for the Recent filename location. You will need to click backwards in your backup timeframes to before these files were removed first. When you find the specific file, click Restore. Rinse repeat.
If you don't have a backup, you are done for local files on your Mac.
