Lockout

Does anyone know what you can do to get into an Ipad that says you've been locked out for 10 million mins? I have tried a hard restart where nothing happened. I plugged the ipad into my computer and tried the hard restart again and now the screen shows the iTunes logo but will do nothing. Any thoughts before scheduling an appointment with apple tech would be greatly appreciated. :)

Greetings,

Thanks for reaching out before scheduling an appointment! Just to make sure that we understand the issue, you indicated the following points:

  • Your iPad is disabled for 10 million minutes.
  • You've placed the iPad in Recovery Mode.
  • While the iPad is in Recovery Mode you've plugged it into the computer.

We just need to make sure that iTunes is located on your computer, and if it is we may need to troubleshoot why the iPad isn't recognized by the computer. Try the steps in this article: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204095 to see if you can get the iPad recognized on your computer.

Somebody entered the wrong password in iPad too many times. You have no choice but to erase your iPad, and set it up as new to get back in. Check this link. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204306 If you need to go to Apple Store, bring original receipt and ID before Genius can help out. If no more receipt, from your computer, go into your iCloud account, remotely erase your device. Don’t remove device, just erase it, then set it up as new.
