Bose Companion 5 Speakers and Mojave

After updating my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports), my Bose Companion Series 5 speakers aren't detected when plugged into the USB port. I had no issues with the older version (Sierra) on the same laptop. The only way to get them to play now is with an auxiliary cable. Any suggestions? Or is there a drive that can be downloaded so they will be detectable again?

I have the same issue with both my Imac and MacBook. Contacted Bose Australia who said that Apple have been aware of this issue since, 2016 and wont do anything about it. I have called Apple support since Feb 2019. Bose on the other hand have been very good and recommended using the 3.5' jack from the bose controller to the headphone jack on the rear of the Imac. This is the only resolution.
