Magic mouse secondary right click won't work but will work as left click.

Problem: My mouse Secondary click will not work as right click. When activated only primary left click & scroll will work. If I change secondary click to left click then both left click & right click will work.

(Primary left click / Secondary right click = only left click works)

(Secondary left click / Primary right click = both left & right click works)

I have tried everything. I have done every single update as of May 28, 2019. I'm running macOS Mojave Version 10.14 iMac 21.5-inch, Late 2013. Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5.

I have tried System Preferences>Mouse>Uncheck Secondary Click>Turn Off Computer>Unplug Power Cord From Computer>Wait 1 Minute>Plug Power Cord In>Turn Computer On>Turn Secondary Click Back On. -This seems to be the fix that everyone claims is guaranteed to work yet it does not. I have tried it 30 times already over the past week. Yes I could use my mouse with secondary click as left click but that is just backwards. There's no reason it shouldn't work as right click. It can't be a hardware issue since right click will work as primary click. Right click will only not work as secondary click. I'm using a Magic Mouse version 1. Still uses AA batteries. I've changed the batteries to new batteries 5 times already. Can someone please help me out?

Boot into Safe Mode and reset the mouse from there. Can you get it to work in Safe Mode? Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.

If that fails try resetting the NVRAM: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac
