Keep getting error when trying to download and install MacOS Update - "The request timed out".

I keep getting an error when trying to download and install MacOS Update - "The request timed out". When I select Update Now to get the MacOS 10.14.5 update, a message comes up saying "Some updates need to finish downloading before they are installed. I select "Download & Restart" and a progress bar message comes up reflecting that 924.4 MB of 2.59 GB is downloaded and it never increases. Eventually the error message above appears. Any ideas of how to get this update installed?
