Earphones stopped working

hi, my wired earphones stopped working, whenever I plug them into my iPhone X, the sound keeps playing out the speakers. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Check the charging port for lint or other debris.

If your headphones don‘t work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
