Can I use my 9 volt Fire charger to charge my iPod Touch 6th generation?

I just got a new iPod Touch, since my Classic has died. If I don't want to charge it on my laptop, can I use my 9 volt Fire HD 10 charger?

No. The charging voltage for a iPod Touch is 5 volts and 9 volts might possibly damage it. You can charge it from any powered USB socket, or buy an iPhone charger.

(To add to Roger's post) If you still have the charger unit that came with your Classic, you can use that, because that's a 5 volt USB outlet.

Thank you both for replying. I definitely don't want to damage my new iPod Touch. This is my third iPod and I have never had a charger included. I have a very old Griffin charger and was going to toss it and use either my Fire or Moto charger, but both are 9 volts, so now I'm not.
