MacBook Pro keyboard frozen during Apple Pay transaction

I was completing an Apple Pay transaction on my MacBook Pro 2019 when the keyboard froze with "processing" displayed in the top bar. I tried force quitting Safari and that did not work. I tried rebooting my computer and that did not work. I tried clearing my Safari history and that did not work. This community was offline and AI told me to go to Utilities - Activity Monitor and force quit anything with the name 'safari', 'apple' or 'wallet'. That did not work either. All other applications seem to be working fine, though in the last couple days I have had several popup error messages about something called "routined".
