Text message forwarding stopped working from iOS 26.2 to macOS 26.2

Text message forwarding stopped working from my iPhone 13 mini running iOS 26.2 to my MacBook Pro 14" M3 Pro running macOS 26.2. It stopped working randomly on Thursday, January 1, 2026. And today (Saturday, January 3, 2026) iPhone mirroring randomly stopped working as well.

I've tried multiple things including turning off text message forwarding and then on again, unselecting my phone number from iMessage, turning off iMessage then turning it back on, rebooting both devices, signing out of my iCloud account, turning off bluetooth/wifi, to no avail. This is extremely frustrating because I rely on text message forwarding to get 2FA codes when logging into websites on Safari.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue or something similar? Any way to fix it?
