You would have to contact Google to have your gmail password reset for mail usage. You can use a gmail email address for an Apple Account, but that has nothing to do with the password for the email account. You would have a password for the email account that is managed by Google and the password for the Apple Account that is managed by Apple. They are 2 completely different accounts.
