How do I resolve VLC errors when playing Blu-ray on a MacBook Air with an external drive?

M4 macbook air 15.3" 2025, Tahoe 26.1 

Connected new ASUS BW-16D1X-U external Blu-Ray Writer

Installed VLC 3.0.21 Vetinari (Apple Silicone).

Inserted Blu-ray Disc.

Opened VLC, dragged disc icon to main window.

Getting errors below.

Used Terminal to install libaacs and libbluray. Installations appeared successful, no errors w/ these directions: https://macappstore.org/libaacs/

Restarted computer, same errors.

Ejected disc, Shut down ASUS blu-ray writer (claims it also plays them).

Shut down and restarted computer, then restarted blu-ray writer, inserted disc.

Same errors.
