I’m unclear how Apple iCloud is involved with an app store app download is involved with Google apps and services.

Google Gmail is hosted at Google, and is unrelated to Apple, Apple iCloud, or to Apple app store downloads.

You could download and ask the Google Gemini app about this of course, and it’ll string together words which might statistically resemble an answer, but without expectation of correctness. 😉

You can connect your Google account to your iPhone, so that you can read Gmail with Apple's mail app, and see your Google events on Apple's Calendar app.

I believe that if you install the Google Photos app, it is also possible to synchronize your photos with iCloud Photos and with Google Photos at the same time. You need to be careful if you do this. Some people think that if they do this, they can delete a photo from Google Photos and still have it safe in iCloud Photos, or vice versa. But that isn't how it works. If you synchronize everything everywhere, that means that deleting photos in one place deletes them everywhere.
