AppleTV 4K keeps popping info box up in various apps

The info box keeps popping up on my AppleTV 4K. This happens when watching movies/shows I've purchased from Apple and anything on Tubi, Netflix or Amazon Prime. It pops up about every 5-10 minutes.

We use it with a BenQ projector. We used to have a different projector with an older AppleTV (and never had this problem with any cables). The BenQ came with an AndroidTV dongle that is very buggy and now just doesn't load anymore so we bought the AppleTV 4k to replace it.

Things I've tried so far:

- buying and pairing a new remote

- swapping HDMI cables between the AppleTV and Nintendo Switch. Neither cable makes a difference

- rebooting

- factory reset and updates on the AppleTV

- resetting the remote

- charging the remote

- removing the batteries from all other remotes to see if they are causing interference/a button is jammed

Any suggestions?

Also perhaps of use - the BenQ remote works for the AppleTV as well but removing the batteries from it doesn't seem to solve the problem.

The ‘Info’ overlay is intended to be invoked manually, by swiping down on the clickpad or touch surface on the Siri Remote, or pressing the Down button. Be sure to not have a finger rested on the remote to avoid accidental triggering.

Tapping without clicking or swiping up can show the playback controls, of which ‘Info’ is one of the options.

Else check if the remote may invoke the down button automatically due to (drop) damage. That could show in menus (like Settings), where the options are vertically listed.

Else try contacting the Apple Support staff for assistance. Contact Apple for support and service (phone numbers) or start your support request online (chat/email/callback).
