Tahoe moving disc icons around the desktop

Since upgrading to Tahoe 26.2, the OS will not keep my disc icons where I put them.

I like them upper right, where they always used to be.

But when I shut down and start back up, the icons are not where I put them. They wind up moved to either the bottom or mid left, with an empty space where they used to be.

It’s not crisis, but it is annoying.

Mind you, no other desktop icon is affected - just discs.

I’ve restarted Finder, shut off Stage Manager (also an annoying thing, lol), tried stacks and lock to grid … but, no soap.

Any advice is welcome.
