AirPlay streaming stops prematurely on Apple TV

I use a M2 Mac mini (2023) to stream music from the Music application to an Apple TV HD using AirPlay. Both devices are running version 26.2 of their respective OSs. I recently created a long (4 hours plus) playlist of holiday music. When I used the macOS Music application to stream the playlist to the Apple TV, the music would stop after a seemingly random number of tracks.

The Music still thinks it is still connected over AirPlay but there's no playback. Switching the Airplay setting or clicking on the Next Track icon seems to resume playback at least for a while.

Has anyone experienced this issue and, if so, discovered a workaround?
