Purple Font in Apple Mail App on an iPad Running iPad OS 26.2

When replying to emails in the Apple Mail app on iPadOS 26.2 while using Dark Mode, the quoted original message appears in a dark purple color on a dark background. This results in extremely poor contrast and makes the quoted text unreadable. There is no longer a Mail setting to control quoted message background or colors. This is an accessibility and usability issue, especially for long email threads. It forces me to use the Gmail app, a Windows computer, or change to light mode (which I REALLY dislike).
