Why does the Numbers app go offline on my iPad?

When using the numbers app on my IPad, sometimes it says I am offline. Why does it go offline?

Numbers on iPad doesn't have an offline / online status anywhere.

Are you sure it's from Numbers? and not something else?

Are you opening a file from a network storage device or computer?

Are you saving files on iCloud?

Can you post a screenshot so we can see what you see? Redact any personal details.

Phillip, it is numbers and I am opening it on my IPad and IPhone. I had uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it still showed a tiny cloud with a line striking it across and a blurb that said “numbers is offline blah blah blah”. Last night, (ie: after my post went up), I decided to reset the IPad, erase and reinstall all content.

It seems to be working for now. There is no offline status message anymore.

The problem must have been the initial factory installation of the IOS. (My IPad is only a month old).

I do have to say that my M3 IPad 11” is no better than my older M1 IPad 5th Gen. I am now convinced Apple has a scam going, no question about it. Upgrades are not really upgrades. I am thinking of switching to Android.
