iPod Nano 5G + Windows Laptop Help!

I need help with figuring out how to add music to an iPod nano 5th generation.

I’m using an iPod nano 5G, and an HP laptop with Windows.

iTunes only has podcasts and audiobooks, no music library. Music folder seems to be missing on the iPod from my files menu. If I add mp3s it will say it’s syncing but when I eject it there’s nothing on the device.

I’m getting increasingly frustrated and no articles I read seem to be working. I even tried using the service AnyTrans and, when it looked like it might work, did nothing at all.

help!

Windows, Windows 11 (26200)

If you have installed the Apple Music, Apple Devices and Apple TV apps into iTunes, you need to uninstall them. All three will limit your library to audiobooks and podcasts.

Although Apple would like everyone to move to the three apps, they are not yet a suitable replacement for the traditional iTunes. Also, makes sure that you do not subscribe to Apple Music (the subscription service that Apple also promote). Music from the Apple Music (subscription service) cannot be added to an iPod nano.
