Scrolling is Laggy & Stuttering on MacBook Pro M4 14"

Hi All,

Recently at random times, scrolling or moving between desktops becomes very laggy and stutters. When I try to scroll on a webpage using the trackpad, it stutters. When moving across desktops by swiping across the trackpad with 3 fingers, it stutters again. I have a bluetooth Logitech mouse connected but I don't have any of the stuttering problems with it. The only solution I can find is to restart my MacBook but the issue keeps coming back.

When I scroll, there is a pause where nothing happens, then the page jumps to where I should be.

Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks.

By far the easiest way to cause poor performance, instability, overheating and crashing is to install ANY third-party speeder-uppers, Cleaners, Optimizers, Virus scanners, Bit Torrent, or a VPN that you installed yourself.

the second best way to cause poor performance is to have multiple Apps running at the same time (regardless of whether they have windows open) with too little real RAM or too little disk space.

Apple no longer sells any Macs with only 8 GB real RAM

In general, 20 percent of your boot drive space should be FREE (not just "available")

I would suggest the following,

Go into the mouse and trackpad settings and see if you have default settings. I would also see the trackpad settings making sure all levels of sensitivity are also default meaning the line bar is in the middle and making sure Alternate Mouse settings are all turned off. If they are turned all turn all those settings off within the Trackpad settings.

If the issue still persists I would do a in place Mac OS installation and also check Disk Utility to make sure none of your drives are corrupt or any files leading to device drivers or device files are not corrupt either.
