Why is IMessages Not Sending .jpg in Tahoe 26.2?

I upgraded to Tahoe 26.2 today and I seem to be having trouble sending .jpg photos in IMessages. If I convert the images to .png they will send. If I try and send as a jpg, it doesn't send, then IMessages crashes and generates a report.

I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this.

Thanks!

Thanks so much Owl-53 and dialabrain! Copy and Paste worked!

I started getting the crash reports after several attempts as not delivered.

I hope this gets fixed as it's time consuming if one has several to send. Just wondering as this was never the case for me before, did you both have this just start with the new upgrade to 26.2?

Thanks again to you both and best for the festive season and New Year!

As a photographer, I find myself using jpgs often.

For years, every computer I've owned suddenly seems slower on no particular day. If I check for Updates, sure enough there's always a new one available and I foolishly update which ALWAYS remedies the sluggishness.

I'm going to force myself to wait! :-) Thanks for this.

It is possible, under the current Tahoe 26.2 .

There may have been some regression of sorts though, I could not possibly say for sure

Like my colleague, I have not used .jpg to sent images via iMessages ( Messages )

Waiting, may & hopefully, fix this issue

I texted a pair of .jpg images to my daughter a couple of days ago, from my Mac running 26.2. Dragged and dropped from the desktop into the Messages app, they sent fine. She has an iPhone/iPad/Mac, they were sent as an iMessage and received normally on her devices.

Have you tried rebooting? See if the problem is present when you boot in safe mode, which disables 3rd party extensions and performs some system cleanup.
