The problem with email is that it depends on your email provider and also on the recipient's email provider. Many email (and text) systems strip the metadata for security reasons and to save bandwidth. One pretty foolproof method of foiling those restrictions is to export a picture to Finder and then right click to get the pop-up menu,

and compress the picture to get a zip file

that you can use as an attachment. Email systems won't know what's inside! However, email systems still restrict the size of the attachment, so you have to consider that.
When you export pictures from Photos by using File>Export>Export nn Photos, you have lots of choices,

including which metadata to include. If you choose jpeg and save the result on a mobile drive, then it can can be viewed almost anywhere, and the metadata will be intact, just as you chose in the edit dialog. I'm guessing by jump drive you mean a little flash drive. That's how I give family sets of pictures around the Holidays-- no problem.
