I have an old iPhone that has a ghost apple Id. it says its connected to my account even after i removed it from findmy. now it is activation locked because of it. Putting in my password dosnt work either. I do not have the receipt or box because this phone is a 6 plus.

Ya, im quite familiar with all the steps because i do weird iPhone stuff alot but this stumped me. it also didnt want to connect to the software update server before i erased it.
If the phone is signed in and had Find my enabled on a different account, you will have to get the credentials for that account in order to remove activation lock.
iPhone 6 Plus isn't supported by Apple any longer and trying to get it work is pointless. The MAC addresses on are now used by other devices owned by someone else.
I need the device for a project that im doing and i need it to be unlocked. I understand that it is a legacy device but i still would like to have it working.

Again, the only way to unlock it is to recover the Apple account. Apple will not unlock it.

i reached out to apple already and they said there is nothing they can do.
i just thought someone here would have an idea.
