First, and very important: iCloud is not a backup service. iCloud is a synchronization service. The purpose of iCloud Photos is to keep the Photos Libraries of all the connected devices exactly the same. In doing this, mistakes are copied as quickly and completely as pictures, so you can't depend on iCloud for backup.
Another advantage of using iCloud Photos is to use Optimize Storage. Why are you really using iCloud, and do you have a real backup on an external drive?
I want it to be separate from each other
Turning off iCloud Photos on the Mac makes Photos there absolutely separate. Just be careful not to turn iCloud Photos back on, or Photos will make make the Libraries identical, again.
I have an important wedding album on another account on my MacBook just with those pictures and I want to move it to my regular one but I feel like it would be cluttered with all the other synced images that's why. please advise
A Mac can have more than one Photos Library, so you could have your cake and eat it too. Only the System Library is connected to iCloud. So if you copy another Library to your Mac User's Picture folder, making sure it is not the System Library (in Photos' Settings>General,) then that Library is completely separate. You just double click on the Library you want to look at, and you can switch back and forth. Again, only the System Library will be syncing with iCloud. I keep several Photos Libraries on my Mac--no problem.
We can help with any of that, if you want…
