ejecting an external hard drive
When I eject my external hard drive before shutdown, do I eject the whole drive
or just the two volumes?
It doesn't matter. Shutting down the computer automatically ejects everything.

Ok. But when U do that I keep getting a notification from funder that the drive did not eject properly.
That applies when the computer is fully shut off; using the sleep or logout options doesn't eject the volumes. It still doesn't matter which of those you choose.
